Alvin Kamara Did Not Participate in Saints' Practice Thursday
By Scott Rogust
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara plans to start this Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Yet, based off practices, that doesn't look entirely feasible.
Kamara did not participate in practice on Thursday, making his status that much murkier.
New Orleans' third-year rusher was limited by head coach Sean Payton this past Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Days later, a report indicated that Kamara is dealing with a high ankle-type issue, but stated Kamara thinks he "had a shot" of playing in Week 7. What makes things more intriguing is that Kamara is now being listed with both ankle and knee injuries.
If Kamara doesn't practice on Friday, it's a safe bet that he will sit out.
The Saints signed an insurance policy in former Detroit Lions running back Zach Zenner on Wednesday, in case Kamara is ruled out for Week 7.
If that's the case, Latavius Murray will get the start for the Saints. While facing the Jaguars, Murray rushed for 44 yards on eight carries and hauled in three passes for 35 yards.
Expect a clearer update on Alvin Kamara's Week 7 status on Friday.
