Amari Cooper Wants to Spend Rest of Career With Cowboys
By Mark Powell
The Dallas Cowboys offseason is just getting started, and there are oh so many questions to answer.
At the forefront of Dallas' goals is to extend quarterback Dak Prescott. While little headway has been made in those negotiations, Amari Cooper wants to make sure Jerry Jones doesn't forget about his long-term plans. Cooper, due an extension of his own, wants to remain a Cowboy for life.
“I love being a Dallas Cowboy,” Cooper said Thursday night on 105.3 The Fan. “I think about it almost every day. Just the aura of being a Dallas Cowboy, you can’t beat it. I want to be a Dallas Cowboy for life.”
You heard the man -- make it happen. While this is definitely just player-speak for "show me the money," we shouldn't discount Cooper's desire to stay in what he believes is a winning situation.
Cooper had the best season of his career in 2019, with 79 catches for 1,189 yards and eight touchdowns. The 25-year-old made the Pro Bowl for the fourth time in his five-year career.
