Amari Cooper's Comments on Playing in Oakland Prove He's Far Better off in Dallas
By Ryan Flores
These comments have to hurt Oakland Raiders fans.
In an interview with Trysta Krick, Amari Cooper talked about how his move from Oakland to the Dallas Cowboys was a blessing for his career. He even wound up saying that he felt like he was "wandering aimlessly out there" while on the field for the Raiders.
As of right now, these comments seem justified, as Cooper has revitalized his career in Dallas, posting 725 yards in nine games with the Cowboys. The star wideout had put up just 960 yards in his final 20 games with Oakland, proving that he's clearly in a better situation now.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott must have loved his connection with the wideout, as he targeted him 76 times in those nine games, good for an average of 8.4 targets per game. Prescott's numbers have looked much better since Cooper's arrival, posting 250 passing yards per game, a big step up from the 183 yards per game he was averaging prior to the trade.
Cooper has Cowboys fans salivating at the thought of Prescott and Cooper over the course of a whole season, and rightfully so. He could be exactly what Prescott needs to take his game to the next level.
Needless to say, expectations are sky high for America's team this season. Let's see if they can deliver.
