Amazon Prime Video to Help Yankees Fans Stream Games in 2020
By Brendan Balsamo
There have been continuous struggles for New York Yankees fans to try and stream their team's games. If you live in the New York-metro area, MLBTV blacks out the Yankees' streams, there is no YES Network streaming service, and if you want to watch YES, you must have the Fox Sports Go service.
Amazon is coming up with a solution, though. Indeed, 21 Yankees games will be live streamed on Amazon Prime Video throughout the 2020 season.
MLB fans have struggled with the MLBTV blackout restrictions since the service began, so now Amazon Prime Video is bringing these game streams to fans in the YES blackout areas of New York state, Connecticut, northeast Pennsylvania and north and central New Jersey. Games broadcast on both YES and PIX11 can be streamed.
Fans will be brought a full experience including Amazon's exclusive X-Ray technology, which allows fans to see in-game stats, team and player details, and real-time play-by-play information. All that is required is an Amazon Prime account and The Prime Video app.
Due to the wide reach of Amazon Prime, this will likely be a highly-used service. This is something Yankee fans have been longing for since the days of streaming live media began.
