Andre Drummond Reportedly Said He’d Refuse to Re-Sign With Cavaliers Under John Beilein
By Jerry Trotta

After meeting with the organization's braintrust throughout the All-Star break, Cleveland Cavaliers head coach John Beilein has shockingly agreed to step down from his post despite being in just the first season of his five-year deal.
That news apparently comes as music to the ears of Cleveland's touted trade deadline acquisition, Andre Drummond.
Jason Lloyd of The Athletic claims that Drummond had "made it clear" that he would not re-sign with the team this offseason if the Cavaliers retained Beilein.
.@ByJasonLloyd on @923TheFan just now says Andre Drummond, in two short weeks with #Cavs, had already made it clear that if Beilein was back, he was gone after this season and that this was a worse situation than in Detroit. Side note, he shares an agent with Kevin Love.

Drummond hasn't been a Cavalier for three weeks yet, but was quick to admit that he was traded to a worse situation than he was in with Detroit, which is saying a lot, quite frankly. For him to have made such a bold declaration in such a short period of time spotlights just how disastrous Beilein's stint in Cleveland was.
Beilein's immense lack of success with the Cavs comes as a surprise, especially when you consider that he was one of the best X's and O's coaches in college basketball with Michigan. The Association is obviously a different breed of demanding, but practically nobody expected Beilein to falter as quickly as he did in The Land.

We're not sure if Drummond's ultimatum boils down to his stance on Beilein's ability as a head coach or the fact that he played just 22 minutes in the Cavaliers' last game before the break.
Drummond is owed a bulky $28.8 million if he opts into the last year of his contract next season, and with Beilein no longer in charge in Cleveland, he may be more inclined to return to the team for one more go around.
