Andrew Benintendi to Play Right Field for First Time in MLB Career in Thursday's Spring Training Game
By Jerry Trotta

With seemingly all of the Boston Red Sox chatter surrounding Chris Sale's delayed return from a battle with the flu and pneumonia, and most recently, elbow soreness, there hasn't been much discussion on the status of outfielder Andrew Benintendi.
Benintendi's quad injury has limited him to just one appearance as a designated hitter since late February. Well, the 25-year-old stud is set to take the field for the first time in Spring Training on Thursday against the Houston Astros.
Per Julian McWilliams of the Boston Globe, Benintendi will man right field, a position he has never played before in his big league career.

Benny Biceps will also bat leadoff, but that's not the shocker here. Of a possible 483 games, the Arkansas product has played 412 in left field, and 71 in center.
Some fans may not think much of this, but it's quite significant news considering that this is Benintendi's first appearance in the field this spring. New skipper Ron Roenicke appears to be experimenting with something.
Will this foreshadow a potential position change for the former No. 7 overall pick in 2020?

Who knows, but it's definitely a development to keep tabs on as we creep closer to Opening Day.
