Andrew Berry is Absolutely Crushing Free Agency for the Browns
By Dylan McCaffrey
Andrew Berry has hit the ground running in the start of his tenure as Cleveland Browns general manager. As the youngest GM in the history of the NFL at age 32, Berry took on the monumental task of trying to turn around a long dysfunctional Cleveland Browns franchise.
In just his first offseason at the helm, he has done an amazing job with his early free agency signings, bringing in some top-tier talent which should help the Browns return to the postseason for the first time since 2002.
On just the first day of the legal tampering period, Berry raced away with three key players on long-term contracts: TE Austin Hooper, OT Jack Conklin and QB Case Keenum. Hooper and Conklin fill some major needs on the roster, while Keenum will reunite with his former head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Soon after, deals were reached with veterans BJ Goodson, Karl Joseph and Andrew Billings, all of whom can play meaningful roles within the organization.
Berry and the Browns probably aren't done yet, and hopefully this is the year the Browns can finally climb back into contention. Many general managers have come into Cleveland ready to turn it all around before their seasons unraveled, but Berry's hot start is extremely encouraging.
