VIDEO: Phillies' Andrew McCutchen Takes BP Swings Amid Recovery From ACL Tear
By Scott Rogust

The Philadelphia Phillies enter Spring Training with lofty goals for the 2020 season. Just last year, the team brought in a plethora of talent to compete for the NL East title. However, one of those additions, outfielder Andrew McCutchen, went down early in the season with a torn ACL. Well, after being sidelined a long time, Phillies fans got their first glimpse of Cutch back in the batters box on Wednesday. The veteran outfielder was seen taking batting practice at Phillies camp, suggesting he's recovering well from his ailment.

The 33-year-old outfielder underwent surgery to repair his ACL tear last June. It took him until November to start swinging again, but it looks like he's back without much of a hitch.
Across 59 games last season, McCutchen slashed .256/.378/.457 with 10 homers and 29 RBI before going down with the season-ending injury.

Joe Girardi says don’t be surprised if they take it slow with him this spring but they like where he is

McCutchen is confident that he'll be cleared to play on Opening Day, and based on this clip he's got a pretty good shot of doing so.
