Andy Reid Brings Old Friend Donovan McNabb to Speak at Chiefs Practice Prior to Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs have a head coach in Andy Reid who has faced plenty of adversity throughout his career. He coached the Philadelphia Eagles from 1999-2012 and had a run where he lost three straight NFC Championship Games, only to win the fourth and lose in the Super Bowl.
His quarterback during his Philly heyday was Donovan McNabb, and despite those foibles of the past, the coach brought in his former first-round QB to speak to his Chiefs squad Thursday as the team prepares for Sunday's Super Bowl.

It is easy for fans to live in the moment and only associate Reid with Patrick Mahomes. But McNabb was Reid's quarterback for over a decade, and the two clearly share a bond that has endured throughout the years.
In the final week of 21st season, Andy Reid had his former QB, Donovan McNabb, addressed the Chiefs before today's practice.

“He’s been there & done it,” Reid said of McNabb to @danpompei. “He’s been in the league, played a long time. It was good hearing from him.”
McNabb has plenty of postseason experience, and is able to offer up his tips based on his own shortcomings in the Super Bowl. Having extra voices in the room is never a bad thing, and Reid was smart to bring in a different perspective.
Hopefully McNabb's presence won't serve as a curse for a Chiefs team looking to exorcise its own playoff demons.
