Andy Reid Had High Praise for 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan Ahead of Super Bowl Clash

Andy Reid is 61 years old and is headed to his second Super Bowl as a head coach. This will be the first Super Bowl as a head coach for the 40-year-old Kyle Shanahan, after he led a dramatic turnaround for a San Francisco 49ers franchise that was struggling before he arrived.
Reid has been around the game a long time and had some high praise to offer up about the opposing coach, who is 21 years his junior.

“He’s done a very nice job. He’s a smart kid, now. He’s sharp. Great for this league. You have this influx of these new coaches with these great minds on both sides of the ball. So that makes this league strong."
The best part of this is Reid calling Shanahan a kid.
The full quote is spot on from Reid and it is nice to see him talk positively about a younger coach in the game. Shanahan has brought a lot of unique concepts not only to the 49ers offense, but to every team he has coached with.
Even ahead of the biggest game of his coaching career, Reid didn't hesitate to offer Shanahan some kind words.

Kyle Shanahan’s third season as 49ers coach: 13-3, Super Bowl
Shanahan was born in 1979, the year Walsh was hired as 49ers’ coach
The two coaches are from different eras, but are both offensive geniuses and football fans should be excited to see what they're able to come up with in the Super Bowl.
Though despite the praise, Reid has no desire to see Shanahan win a Super Bowl as a head coach before him.
