Angels Announce Tommy La Stella Out 8-10 Weeks With Broken Leg
By Sean Facey

One of the most exciting players of the 2019 season is unfortunately going to miss an extended period of time.
The Los Angeles Angels announced that All-Star second baseman Tommy La Stella is expected to miss eight-to-10 weeks due to a fractured right tibia.

Tommy La Stella underwent a CT scan earlier today that revealed a right tibia fracture. A typical return to play timetable for this injury is 8-10 weeks.
La Stella fouled a ball off of his shin during sixth inning of the Angels' game against the Texas Rangers and had to be carried off of the field. He was unable to put pressure on the leg and was clearly in pain.
La Stella was in the midst of a breakout campaign with Los Angeles. He entered the year with a modest .711 career OPS and just 10 home runs to his name, but he exploded here in 2019, slashing .300/.353/.495 with 16 home runs in 78 games.
The injury, of course, leaves him unable to play in his first career All-Star Game. He, Hunter Pence and Jake Odirizzi will be replaced by Brandon Lowe, Xander Bogaerts and Jose Berrios.

He wasn't the only Angel to suffer an injury during the game either. Outfielder Brian Goodwin took a pitch off the wrist and was ultimately placed on the 10-day injured list with a contusion.
It's going to be tough to say the least for the Angels to weather through these two critical injuries.
