The Los Angeles Angels have lost four in a row and eight of their last 10, and it's only getting worse, as they were forced to place three players on the injured list Sunday.

Right-handed pitcher Felix Peña was carried off the field Saturday night with what's being reported as a torn ACL. On top of that, shortstop Andrelton Simmons re-injured his ankle and right-handed pitcher Griffin Canning is headed to the shelf with elbow inflammation.

The Angels needed to cover those open roster spots, which is why they called up infielder Wilfredo Tovar, first baseman and left-handed pitcher Jared Walsh and right-handed reliever Luke Bard.

We know that Peña will miss the rest of the 2019 season, as well as a good chunk of 2020. There isn't a timetable for either Simmons or Canning, however. Luckily for latter, an MRI didn't reveal any structural damage.

This is the same ankle that Simmons landed on the IL for back in June. When it rains, it pours for these Halos.
