The Los Angeles Angels have officially made a splash in the offseason, striking a deal to add another right-hander to their starting rotation.

The Halos acquired Dylan Bundy from the Baltimore Orioles, per Ken Rosenthal, in a trade that will send minor league right-hander Isaac Mattson to the O's.

The return includes four prospects, only one of whom ranks in the Angels' top 30, per MLB Pipeline (Bradish at No. 21).

Bundy impressed in 2016 and 2017 with the Orioles, but has looked a shell of his former self over the past two seasons.

In 2019, the 27-year-old went 7-14 with a 4.79 ERA across 30 starts. He logged 161.2 innings and struck out 162. This comes on the heels of a 2018 campaign in which he surrendered a league-high 41 homers.

Still, should he rediscover his past form, he could be a safe back-end rotation option for the Angels, who are still contenders in the Gerrit Cole sweepstakes.

Mattson, across three minor league levels last season, recorded an impressive 2.33 ERA, striking out 110 batters across 73.1 innings. He reached Triple-A last season, logging five relief appearances and recording a 3.86 ERA.

He looks like a promising addition for the Orioles, who are far out of contention, while the Angels get the immediate upgrade they're looking for as they pursue a postseason berth in 2020.
