Angels Wear OCC Caps for Tuesday's Game to Honor Deceased Coach John Altobelli

The tragic helicopter crash that took the life of Kobe Bryant killed a total of nine individuals. Three of those were members of the Altobelli family.
John Altobelli, his wife Keri, and daughter Alyssa were killed in the crash. John was the baseball coach at Orange Coast College for 27 seasons, and his work touched the lives of so many in the game, including his work in the collegiate Cape Cod League with stars like Aaron Judge and Jeff McNeil. The Los Angeles Angels held a memorial for the family, and will now be donning OCC hats on Tuesday in honor of the former coach.

This is a nice gesture by the Angels organization, as they honor a man who was so important to so many in the game of baseball. Angels prospect Jack Kruger played for Altobelli at OCC, and the late coach worked with collegiate stars from programs across the country every summer in Massachusetts.
