Sometimes organizations thank a player for their service after they've been traded. Not this time.

A Toronto Blue Jays higher-up that remains unnamed took a shot at Marcus Stroman, who was recently traded to the New York Mets for Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods-Richardson.

The Blue Jays exec reportedly said the following regarding Stroman, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post, “Sometimes players get real comfortable when they have been there a while and they think they are the veteran. I think when he gets into a group with deGrom and Syndergaard over there he will fit right in like he is supposed to do.”

Stroman's been in the major leagues since 2014, and has spent all five years in the league so far with Toronto. Stroman likely "thinks he's a veteran" because he is one, and a good one at that. Coming off his first All-Star selection this year, Stroman has proved that he can find success individually.

The same can't be said for team success, however. Toronto has a record of 40-67, which includes a 20-34 record at home.

Stroman will be on another underperforming team in New York, but at least he's escaping the odd beef with the Toronto front office.
