Anonymous NFL Scout Claims Drafting Oregon QB Justin Herbert Will 'Get Someone Fired'
By Adam Weinrib

What's the opposite of a ringing endorsement?
As the college football season nears its midpoint, it's about the time when prognosticators and pundits push Ducks QB Justin Herbert back up their draft boards. He was in the conversation for last year's first overall pick before declaring he'd return to school and delay the whole filleting process one more year.
Well, that year's nearly up, and Herbert has posted another season of the exact same results: sometimes tantalizing, but not really, and never someone who looks like he should rise to the pinnacle of his sport (though his 17 TDs against a single pick are impressive).
Or, in one scout's words, the type of prospect who will "get someone fired."

This evaluator pulled zero punches, also saying of Herbert, "I've never understood the love with this kid," later adding that he "doesn't have it."
Tell us how you really feel!
The last Oregon Ducks QB to go at the top of the draft -- Marcus Mariota with the second pick -- was universally lauded as an exciting playmaker. Herbert is rarely called such things, and still may be a Day One selection.
I’m genuinely starting to think Justin Herbert is the most underrated QB in the country. Seems like nobody outside of the west coast thinks he’s good. All I’ve seen is “massively-overrated” “mediocre at best” and “not worth a top 15 pick” on Twitter. So allow me
