Anthony Davis Won't Commit to Lakers Past 2020 in Introductory Press Conference
By Max Scoli
Anthony Davis just predicted some NBA Championships in the Los Angeles Lakers' future, but will he get to be a part of them?
When asked about his future plans with the organization at today's introductory press conference, AD set the record straight by not promising to return once he hits free agency.
This doesn't mean he won't come back though, so don't panic just yet Lakers fans. He just wants to explore his options... as every NBA player should. However, it has become apparent that Davis wants to play in a big market which could possibly position LA in the drivers seat once 2020 rolls around.
His decision will likely be based on how this season plays out. It would be hard to imagine him leaving Los Angeles if the Lakers are able to add another banner to their collection. On the other hand, it wouldn't be a complete shock to see him depart if LA has another repeat of last season, failing to make the playoffs even with the help of the great LeBron James.
It's too early to speculate though, and AD has a lot of time to weight his options.
