Antonio Brown Not at the Start of Raiders' OTAs is History Repeating Itself
By Sean Facey
Antonio Brown is once again proving that he's the polar opposite of a team player after a season and offseason in which he was endlessly blasted for just that.
The new Oakland Raiders wide receiver didn't show up for the start of the team's OTAs, and his notable absence is evidence that history is repeating itself.
For any other player on a new team, it would make perfect sense to show up at OTAs to familiarize themselves with the coaching staff, their teammates and the overall locker room vibe.
Brown, who skipped OTAs with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2018, obviously thinks otherwise.
His absence is proof enough that he hasn't learned a thing about his toxic personality after a tumultuous offseason. Brown doesn't seem to give one iota about anyone other than himself, and if anything, this is basically his way of doubling down and saying he doesn't plan on changing how he acts.
The truly unfortunate part is that none of this is surprising.
Nobody really expected the egomaniac to turn over a new leaf, but there was still a shred of hope across the NFL world that maybe, just maybe, Brown would put the team before himself with his fresh start in Oakland.
For now, though, it's more of the same. Jon Gruden and the rest of the Oakland Raiders organization are just going to have to take it in stride.
