Antonio Brown Reportedly Returns to Raiders Camp Despite Helmet Drama Still Ongoing
Well, it looks like the powerful words from Raiders general manager Mike Mayock have made the intended impact on star wide receiver Antonio Brown.
Brown had been away from the team due to his battle with the NFL over allowing him to play with his helmet of choice, the Schutt Air Advantage, but that's no longer the case. According to multiple reports, Brown was back in the building on Monday morning.
Obviously, this is a great step for Oakland. They signed Brown to a lucrative new $50.1 million contract this offseason and expect him to be a true WR1 for quarterback Derek Carr.
It's still worth noting that he was only in attendance for a meeting today, considering the team's walkthrough practice was canceled. Still, it's encouraging that he's at the facility.
Unfortunately for the Raiders, Brown's name has been in headlines for more news off of the field than on it since he made the move out to Oakland. While it's understandable on one side for him to fight to play with the helmet he wants, you could see just how frustrated Mayock had grown with the situation.
For now, it appears Brown is back with the team and focused on catching balls/making big plays.
