The ongoing sexual assault investigation surrounding former All-Pro receiver Antonio Brown, coupled with his rare outbursts, has prevented him from suiting up in the 2019 season for all but a one-game cameo with the New England Patriots.

In an attempt to clear his name and present his side of the story, Brown met with league officials last week, and some close to him have expressed optimism he can play again this season.

Brown is accused of sexually assaulting Britney Taylor, his former personal trainer.

Brown led the NFL in touchdowns last season, so he is far from washed up and there is no doubt his play on the field can change the course of an entire season.

AB's employment merely comes down to if a team is willing to absorb a PR blow in exchange for some wins. If the answer is yes, than he might play again this year. The NFL has to give him the green light as well.

For ALL of the baggage and nonsensical drama that AB will assuredly bring to any locker room, he is wildly talented at his job, and if whatever apology he gave is sufficient enough for the NFL owners chasing both the almighty dollar and playoff success, than AB might be headed back to an NFL roster.

Again, though, it will all come down to what the NFL decides. The investigation on the sexual assault claims against him are ongoing. Stay tuned for how things turn out.
