Antonio Brown Tweets and Deletes Strange Graphic After Accusing NFL of Racial Double Standard
It seemed like we were due for the weekly Antonio Brown check-in via Twitter, and here it is, right on cue.
On Wednesday, Brown took to the platform to call out the NFL on its double standards on punishment, quickly singling out how Richie Incognito has been allowed to play despite his bizarre and packed criminal record, while other non-caucasian players have been punished deeply.
Brown followed this tweet with one an hour later, accompanied with Incognito's mugshot.
To be perfectly honest, Brown isn't wrong to call out the league's standards, but it's coming from a strange place. While his lashing out seems to be coming from a place of selfishness rather than honorability (he certainly cares about getting onto the field himself), AB's point is still valid. Incognito has faced a slew of charges and accusations (bullying, physical/verbal assaults, and a threat to shoot up a funeral home) yet he remains employed in the NFL. The double standard he touched on with this post has some clear truths to it.
However, Brown then quickly worked to invalidate his own argument by posting a crudely photoshopped image, depicting him as a sacrifice to the NFL media.
That message is quite a bit harder to get behind.
Antonio Brown's story gets stranger by the day, as he is constantly digging himself deeper and deeper into a hole that he will almost certainly not be able to climb out of. His constant shots at owners, ex-teammates, and media personalities will only work against him as he tries to re-enter the National Football League.
Or, as AB himself put it...
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up!
