Another Briles failing upward? Didn't see that one coming!

The Arkansas Razorbacks' coaching rehaul is almost complete, as new head coach Sam Pittman picks his ideal coaching staff.

Per sources on Monday, the Hogs have hired former FSU offensive coordinator Kendal Briles to be their new offensive coordinator, though he doesn't come without a reputation.

With quarterback K.J. Jefferson looking likely to be the Razorbacks' starter next year, Briles has a young athletic quarterback to craft his offense around.

Under Briles, the Seminoles averaged a solid 29.1 points per game in 2019 which, considering their offensive line issues, speaks volumes.

Of course, it's worth noting that Briles' father, Art, saw his tenure at Baylor end in abject disrepair amid myriad scandals and illicit coverups, and the younger Briles found his way to leading Lane Kiffin's offense shortly thereafter.

Hog fans are likely rejoicing at adding a big name, though, as they have seen drastic coaching changes over the past few weeks. Considering it has been over two years since the team won a SEC game, these changes were necessary.

Because the Razorbacks have been so poor for so long, it can be expected for Briles to have a long leash. Arkansas needs to give him the time to work out the kinks and figure out what works if they want any chance to be successful.
