The 2023/24 football season has gotten off to an incredible start in England. With the English Premier League action set to start next Friday with Burnley hosting Manchester City, people are excited. Before that, though, MCFC and Arsenal faced off in the Community Shield on Sunday.

Manchester City opened the scoring in the second half with a sensational goal from Cole Palmer. It looked like that one was going to be the winner. Instead, Arsenal tied things up late and then took home the silverware by coming out on top of the penalty shootout:

In stoppage time, Leandro Trossard was able to even things up at 1-1 after his shot was deflected and somehow found the back of the net. From there, Arsenal dominated the PK shootout, with goalie Aaron Ramsdale coming up big for his club.

Arsenal supporters were over the moon with this victory, as they're hoping it will help them set the tone for the rest of the campaign. We'll see if the Gunners can make plenty of noise in the EPL this year.
