The ongoing, never-ending war between MLB players and MLB umpires reached another crescendo when Texas Rangers infielder Asdrubal Cabrera threw batting gloves at home plate umpire Bill Miller following a series of questionable calls.

In retaliation, the league has suspended Cabrera four games. If he chooses not to appeal, his suspension will start Friday night against the Chicago White Sox.

The 33-year-old Cabrera is putting together another fine season, putting up a .242 average with 11 home runs and 43 RBI.

The incident in question came after Cabrera was ejected for arguing balls and strikes during a game against the Cleveland Indians. After manager Chris Woodward came out to argue with home plate umpire Bill Miller, a visibly exasperated and frustrated Cabrera chucked his batting gloves at Miller, with one of them apparently hitting him in the anke.

While the whole incident might seem pretty tame, throwing equipment at an umpire is a sure way to get yourself in big trouble. The fact that he made contact with Miller certainly didn't work in his favor either.
