VIDEO: Kentucky Point Guard Ashton Hagans Loses it After Wildcats Steal Late Win Over Florida
By Michael Luciano
Star Kentucky point guard Ashton Hagans was relegated to watching his team on TV and cheering them on as they took on Mike White and the Florida Gators on the road Saturday, but that doesn't make his reaction after the Wildcats' impressive W any less electric. Hagans was in a state of complete euphoria watching from home as his team took down the Gators 71-70 in Gainesville despite Hagans' mysterious absence from the squad -- and an 18-point second-half deficit.
Hagans was away from the team due because of "personal reasons." While nothing has been confirmed, some believe that his public disagreement with star Wildcats center Nick Richards was the main reason Hagans wasn't with the team this weekend.
Star guard or no star guard, Calipari has Kentucky sitting pretty right at the top of the SEC, while the Gators continue to stumble in what has been a truly disappointing year.
Hagans might have missed out on the Wildcats' final regular season victory, but he hasn't lost one drop of that passion that has helped mold him into such a dynamic and game-changing point guard. Hopefully, whatever has him sitting at home gets resolved soon and he can celebrate wins ON the court next time, perhaps in the SEC Tournament.
