Alex Bregman and Lance McCullers' Twitter Accounts Both Disappeared and We Have Questions

The Houston Astros aren't the greater baseball world's favorite team right about now. In the wake of the MLB dropping the hammer on them after finding significant evidence of their sytematic sign-stealing during their 2017 championship season, we already saw in Spring Training that retaliation was afoot as blowback for their transgressions.

Across social media, Astros players have received uncommon flak from the haters, too. This is unfortunate, but also unsurprising. And now, we perhaps have a direct response to that hate: Alex Bregman and Lance McCullers' Twitter accounts suddenly no longer exist.

Bregman, who goes by @ABREG_1, and McCullers, whose handle is @LMcCullers43, were both wiped from the platform as of Saturday evening.

There's no early word on why Bregman decided to bail, but McCullers was rather justified in ditching Twitter. In the early hours of Saturday morning, his account suffered an apparent hack, with a series of profane and indefensible messages invading his timeline. (You've been warned. Whoever did this to McCullers is a lowlife. For Bregman's sake, though he may be quite the brash and unapologetic type at times, we surely hope that he himself was not the victim of scumbag behavior.

The Astros may have cheated, but we have to be better than that. We just do.
