VIDEO: Astros Announcer Steve Sparks is Awake and Ready for 'Opening Day at Home'
Folks, it's a sad day for Major League Baseball fans everywhere. Today would have marked Opening Day for everyone to enjoy, but of course, that won't be happening, due to the season being suspended because of the ongoing COVID-19 concerns. However, not everyone is going to mope about it -- take Astros announcer Steve Sparks, for example. The man is ready for 'Opening Day at Home' and has a strong message for Houston fans.
I mean, this is simply genius. Sparks, with his bed covered in Astros gear, is fired up. Good luck trying to match that kind of energy today. The fact that he got his wife to participate in this hilarious video is priceless, too.
While the offseason has been rocked by the team's sign-stealing scandal, that doesn't mean the sluggers weren't ready to make another run at a World Series this campaign. Although the status of the season is completely up in the air, Sparks is ready at a moment's notice for when Rob Manfred and Co. decide the action will get going.
Stay patient, Astros fans. We're all hopeful at some point this summer Sparks will have an excuse to get out of his bed and get himself to Minute Maid Park once again.
