Astros 'Apologies' for Osuna Comments Totally Missed the Point and Everyone Should Still Be Furious

Instead of talking about the wonderful pitching matchups or the possibility of the Houston Astros capturing their second World Series in three seasons, everyone is stuck talking about assistant general manager Brandon Taubman's sickening actions after ALCS Game 6.

On top of that, the conversation has now shifted to Taubman and Astros owner Jim Crane's inability to apologize or take responsibility for something. Their latest statements and "apologies" couldn't have missed the point further.

On Sunday, Sports Illustrated reported that Taubman turned to some female reporters and yelled, "Thank God we got Osuna! I’m so (expletive) glad we got Osuna!”

You can understand that reaction, no matter who was around, if Osuna wasn't suspended for domestic violence last year. But he was, and Taubman decided to exclaim that in front of a group of females...after Osuna blew a save.

The worst part of their statements was the fact neither apologized for essentially calling the reporter a liar, which was the subject of their first statement.

You drag this person through the mud and call her a liar, but then half admit to what happened?

We'll now be going on attempt No. 3 for the Astros to get this right. At this point, we can only hope this spells bad karma for their World Series chances.
