VIDEO: Carlos Correa Targets Kurt Suzuki for Comments About Astros Cheating During World Series
Carlos Correa has been one of the more vocal Houston Astros players when it comes to defending his team against allegations of cheating beyond the 2017 season. He recently spoke out against Washington Nationals catcher Kurt Suzuki, who claimed the Astros were cheating during the 2019 World Series by whistling to relay signs. This claim clearly upset Correa.
The shortstop was adamant that the whistling was from the fans and is normal in any MLB game. He kept repeating how the league cleared his team of any cheating in 2019, which is why he felt Suzuki's comments were inappropriate.
On again, the point Correa (and others) have been missing is that he's not directly saying "we didn't cheat" -- he's just referencing the MLB's findings in its investigation.
It's hard to believe anything Correa and his teammates say at this point. The stories keep changing and there's been little-to-no genuine remorse from anyone involved, so you can understand why Suzuki felt the Astros were attempting to gain an unfair advantage during this past year's Fall Classic.
