Astros GM Jeff Luhnow Contradicted Team's Statement by Saying Houston Never Conducted Investigation
By Jerry Trotta

By now, we're almost fully convinced that Houston Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow is trying to make his organization look like one of the most contaminated units in all of professional sports.
During his statement on Thursday, which came in the wake of terminating assistant GM Brandon Taubman, Luhnow laughably contradicted his team's original claims that Houston learned all about Taubman's specific targeting via an internal investigation.
As it turns out, no investigation ever transpired.
Houston GM Jeff Luhnow contradicts the Astros' own statement issued from today, now saying there was no investigation by the organization.

What on earth are the Astros doing still sending Luhnow out to blunder during the World Series? The manner in which he has handled this public relations nightmare has been nothing short of abominable.
Keep in mind that he cowardly claimed, during that same post-firing press conference, that Taubman "lied" to the organization when they asked him about the incident, and that the Astros should not have never issued their original distasteful statement.
You think?
The #Astros fire assistant GM and make another run at some sort of apology. GM Jeff Luhnow still doesn't completely get it. Column:https://t.co/MwAOi7WZkF

The Astros took a massive step forward in canning Taubman, even though the announcement was alarmingly delayed, but the franchise keeps taking two steps back which each subsequent report or statement that comes out.
Why disclose that your organization sanctioned an investigation into Taubman if, in fact, that was anything but the case?
Stay tuned for whatever nonsense comes next, folks. Our guess is that it will be similarly incensing.
