The Houston Astros may have been slammed with the injury bug recently, but there's a silver lining.
Right now, the AL powerhouse is without George Springer, Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa, which are three gigantic losses. However, Houston's depth pieces will be put to the test, helping them gain more experience that will ultimately make the team stronger than it was before.
Astros on the Injured List:

OF George Springer (hamstring)
2B Jose Altuve (hamstring)
SS Carlos Correa (rib)
IF Aledmys Diaz (hamstring)
C Max Stassi (knee)
RHP Collin McHugh (elbow)
The Astros are undoubtedly the favorites to win the AL West. Even after the Oakland Athletics reeled off 10 straight wins to launch themselves into second place, they still sit 7.5 games out of first place. No lead is insurmountable, but that's a pretty large cushion.
Now is the perfect time to trot out the depth pieces and see what they have to offer. Seeing what's available now lets the coaching staff know what they're working with and what the front office might need to shore up.
If the Astros can continue to overcome extended trips to the IL by Altuve, Springer and Bregman and handle that adversity, that means this teams depth is phenomenal and they will be even better than 2017. When healthy they already are better!

And once they have that experience under their belts, they'll be primed to lend a hand down the stretch or even in the playoffs if need be.
No injury is a good injury, but at the very least the Astros can now make use out of a bad situation.
