Astros Shockingly Announce Justin Verlander Underwent Surgery and Will Miss 6 Weeks
By Thomas Carannante

It's been a horrible offseason for the Houston Astros and the storyline continues for the disgraced MLB franchise.
After all that's been going on with ace Justin Verlander this offseason, the Astros were dealt with troubling news on Tuesday after announcing the right-hander will undergo groin surgery and miss up to six weeks of time.

The only positive here is that the MLB season is significantly delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak, so Verlander will likely be fine whenever baseball picks back up. Then again, it's rarely a good sign when your 37-year-old workhorse is breaking down a bit, especially when you consider he was shut down from throwing earlier in Spring Training due to a lat strain.
It's already expected to be a season full of adversity for the Astros, so more news like this will only further dampen the mood surrounding the club.

The best case here is that Verlander uses the time off to get back to full strength so he's ready to deal when the season resumes.
