Astros Manager AJ Hinch Responds Graciously to Controversy Surrounding Assistant General Manager
By Thomas Carannante

Finally! We have someone committed to responding respectfully and truthfully in order to put this behind us.
Houston Astros manager AJ Hinch responded to the controversy surrounding the team's assistant general manager, Brandon Taubman, who reportedly incensed female reporters with his inflammatory remarks about closer Roberto Osuna, which almost everyone is familiar with at this point.
After two bologna attempts to release statements from the team, Hinch did the dirty work and addressed everything as best he could considering he's not one of the higher-ups.
Hinch: “I’m very disappointed for a lot of reasons. ... For me as a leader in this organization I take everything that happens in the clubhouse to heart. Players, coaches, media, when you come into our clubhouse you should never feel disrespected.”

That's a stark difference from what the team's owner and assistant GM offered.
Last night the Astros tried the “no comment” and “fake news” defenses re Taubman’s behavior. Now AJ Hinch calls it “uncalled for” and says “nobody should ever feel like you’re going to be uncomfortable or disrespected” in the clubhouse. Why was that so hard?

Who's running the show here?
AJ Hinch on the #Astros clubhouse “incident”: “I think we all need to be better in the industry.”

It would have been nice if the organization could've released something that resembled a shred of this. Instead they tiptoed around the issue, apologized for something they weren't accused of, and called the reporter a liar.
At least it's clear the players want to move on from this, which makes sense because this is something the front office and upper management need to properly address. What a shame it's come to this with the World Series starting on Tuesday.
