Astros Need to Own Their Actions and Suspend Assistant GM Brandon Taubman Over Roberto Osuna Comment
By Jerry Trotta

What should have been an unforgettable moment of sheer ecstasy for the Houston Astros, has, once again, fueled a nationwide discussion on MLB's previously poor management of domestic violence.
Sports Illustrated reported a disturbing incident inside the Astros clubhouse on Saturday night after their ALCS win, which claimed that assistant general manager Brandon Taubman turned to a group of female reporters and yelled, "Thank God we got Osuna! I’m so (expletive) glad we got Osuna!”
Well, the Houston Chronicle has confirmed Taubman's distasteful outburst, and the Astros need to promptly respond by suspending the exec, even if their statement vehemently denied the report.

Taubman's actions are especially out of line considering Osuna nearly blew the game and series by allowing a game-tying two-run home run in the ninth inning of Game 6. Thank God you got him for that? What's the reason for celebrating this now?
Of course, Houston acquired Osuna in July of 2018 while he was serving a 75-game suspension for violating the league's domestic violence policy. Practically shoving that in the face of three innocent FEMALE reports is nothing short of repulsive and should be viewed as an intolerable act.
During the Astros’ ALCS celebration, assistant GM Brandon Taubman yelled, half a dozen times, to three female reporters, “Thank God we got Osuna! I’m so f——— glad we got Osuna!” On a systemic problem, in Houston and across the league: https://t.co/8zyVwG2Lpo

The Astros need to act fast before this blows out of proportion, and before they make it any worse.
In light of the news, the organization released a pathetic statement in which they emphatically defended Taubman and asserted Sports Illustrated "fabricated" the story...AFTER the publication reached out to the Astros for a comment and the team did not respond.

This is the last thing that Astros players need hanging over their heads with the World Series beginning on Tuesday night, and announcing a suspension for Taubman would be a good start in cleaning everything up.
