Astros Players Talking Trash Back to Critics Over Cheating Scandal Proves They've Learned Nothing
By Michael Luciano
The Houston Astros should be begging the media and fans to let them back in their good graces after their organization's sign stealing plot was unearthed. Instead, they've chosen to be combative, standoffish, and vague.
Outfielder Josh Reddick continued Houston's blatant disregard for what the rest of the world thinks about them, as he claimed that he doesn't "give a s---" what people believe about his team's legitimacy, and that winning another championship will "shut everybody up."
So much for being apologetic and feeling one ounce of remorse over what they did.
This once again goes to show that the Astros aren't truly sorry they ruined the integrity of the game and the history of the sport. They're more upset that they got caught, have to deal with their soiled reputations, and have targets painted on their collective back.
Reddick is clearly not the only one in that clubhouse who shares the sentiments that these comments bring to mind. This is emblematic of an organization that i clearly upset this is all still getting talked about. That doesn't mean the league, its players, or the media should let them off the hook. Grilling these guys into some contrition is the only correct approach.
