After dropping Game 1 at home to the Washington Nationals by an uncharacteristically poor pitching performance from Gerrit Cole, the Astros will look to knot the series up with a win on Wednesday night.

Justin Verlander will toe the rubber for the Astros, and now we know how AJ Hinch will deploy his hitters. Here's the lineup for Game 2:

Astros Lineup

The usual suspects occupy the first five spots in the order, as George Springer leads off, followed by Jose Altuve, Michael Brantley, Alex Bregman and Yuli Gurriel.

Moving back up to the six-hole is Yordan Alvarez, who hit seventh in Game 1. He is once again the team's DH. Carlos Correa has been bumped down to seventh and will be followed by Robinson Chirinos who replaces Martin Maldonado as the team's backstop.

Rounding out the order is Josh Reddick who will once again start in right field.

After Cole was shelled for five earned runs in the 5-4 defeat, the 'Stros will be hoping that Verlander can tame the loaded Nats lineup, particularly Juan Soto who absolutely terrorized Houston on Tuesday.

A loss in Game 2 would put the Astros in a big hole as the series shifts to the nation's capital.
