Astros Star Carlos Correa to Miss Significant Time With Fractured Rib

The injury problems just keep mounting for the Houston Astros.
Star shortstop Carlos Correa has been diagnosed with a fractured rib and is expected to miss a significant amount of time.

The news comes in wake of the team's choice to pull Jose Altuve off of his rehab assignment as he continues to battle soreness. George Springer also hit the IL after injuring his hamstring last week, meaning Houston will be without three of its star players.
Correa is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks. He struggled with injuries in 2018, and for a brief moment, 2019 finally looked to be the turning point for the shortstop in terms of health.
Correa has been a monster for the Astros this year. The former AL Rookie of the Year is slashing .295/.360/.547 with 11 home runs and 35 RBI.

IF/OF Myles Straw has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
As a corresponding move, the Astros have recalled utility man Myles Straw from Triple-A Round Rock. Straw started his transition to shortstop in the minors this year, and will now be challenged to play the position at the game's highest level.
Straw slashed .259/.369/.353 at Triple-A Round Rock this season, clubbing 1 home run and driving in 18 runs. He's mostly a threat on the base paths, having swiped 16 bags across 46 games, getting caught out just twice.
He will try to fill the massive hole left behind in wake of Correa's injury and help keep the Astros afloat while they deal with the myriad of injuries.
