The Houston Astros (41-20) won the first of a four-game series against the Seattle Mariners (25-38) on Monday. Houston is now riding a four-game win streak that stems from their sweep of the Athletics over the weekend. Trying to close the gap between themselves and the division-leading Astros, the Mariners have dropped their past three games and 12 of their last 14.

It's been nearly a week since Astros left-hander Wade Miley has seen the mound. Last Wednesday, he went seven innings against the Cubs and allowed just two runs while striking out nine. Allowing three runs or fewer in 11 of his 12 starts, Miley has led the Astros to an 8-4 record when he's on the mound.

Pitching depth has been a notable flaw of Seattle so far this season and they recalled Andrew Moore to make a spot start against the Astros tonight. The reeling M's will need all the help they can get in this one.
