Athletics Got Delayed Leaving Texas After Wild Thunderstorm Damages Plane
By Sean Facey

After playing their fourth game against the Rangers in three days, the Athletics were hoping to leave Texas as fast as possible.
The weather, however, had other plans.
Thunderstorms that blew through the Dallas area on Sunday sent the mobile stairs crashing into the team's plane, damaging the wing and delaying their takeoff for an extensive period of time.
The A’s trip to Texas just will not end: The Chronicle has learned today’s thunderstorm blew the mobile stairs into the team’s plane, damaging the wing, and the A’s players are still stuck in the clubhouse in Texas for an extra 3 1/2 hours or so.

The Athletics had to spend an unscheduled 3.5 hours in the visitor's clubhouse in Texas waiting to leave.
The extra wait certainly doesn't do the team any favors. They've still got a three-game series to play against the Rays down in Tampa Bay before they get a day of rest to cap off their nine-day, 10-game road trip.
At this point, getting home in one piece would be a massive achievement.

They've fared well thus far, going 4-3 over the first seven games of the trip, but they lost both ends of a doubleheader against the Rangers on Saturday and barely held on for the 9-8 win on Sunday after allowing five runs in the final two innings.
Hopefully the weather in Florida is more pleasant than what they experienced on their last day in Texas.
