Auburn's Impressive Dominant Play Proves They Should Be in Conversation With Alabama and LSU
By Chris Russo
The No. 7 Auburn Tigers have a tough remaining seven weeks, but they are holding their own right now.
With wins against ranked teams Oregon (No. 13) and Texas A&M (No. 23), plus a blowout victory against a quality team in Mississippi State, the Tigers are starting to prove they can still be the class of the SEC.
The Tigers walked all over the Bulldogs in Auburn on Saturday night. They also ran over them.
Auburn has a slew of talent, with their offense averaging over 250 rushing yards a game entering this week's matchup. Seth Williams more than doubled his season total for receiving yards in the Mississippi State game.
Their quarterback, Bo Nix, has an endorsement from possibly the greatest college football player ever.
The Auburn defense entered Saturday having allowed under 16 points a game, which is definitely not easy in the SEC.
Yet, challenges do loom in the next few weeks for Auburn. Their conference is so good that they will face four top-10 teams in the final seven games: Florida, LSU, Georgia and Alabama. Auburn seems to have proven themselves so far, but their detractors will learn their fate as soon as next week, when they head to Gainesville to take on the Gators.
