Austin Romine Becomes Latest Former Yankee to Grow a Beard and He Looks Completely Different
By Evan Wolff

The New York Yankees' clubhouse rule of not allowing players to grow facial hair has been upheld since the 1970s, so it's not uncommon to see players rocking beards shortly after departing from the organization.
One of the most recent examples of that comes from former Yankee backup catcher Austin Romine, who arrived at Tigers' Spring Training on Wednesday with a thick beard.

Romine looks like a whole different person with his beard, and we'd wager he's pretty pumped to have the freedom to grow the facial hair of his choosing. It's just another example of the potential that these players have for some awesome beards. Maybe one of these years, the front office will allow for playoff beards?
Dellin Betances, now with the Mets, was also seen embracing his newfound freedoms.

Romine and Betances will be able to maintain their facial hair throughout the regular season, unlike some current Yankees who were seen growing out beards during the offseason.
Unfortunately, those will have to go when the regular season swings around.
