Authorities Arrest 3 More Suspects in Connection With David Ortiz Shooting

The attempt on David Ortiz's life is even more intricate than initially suspected.

Whatever the rumors, the Boston Red Sox legend was shot in the back in his native Dominican Republic on Sunday and the motive has largely been unclear. But, given the amount of people taken into custody, we may find out soon.

Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting, bringing the total to nine.

The latest three suspects have been detained and charged with attempted murder, criminal association and illegal possession of weapons, according to the latest reports out of the Dominican National Prosecutor's Office.

However, officials believe four others connected to the incident are still at large.

Big Papi is currently recovering in Massachusetts General Hospital after undergoing a second surgery upon arrival in the United States. His wife has released multiple statements and updates regarding his status, but nobody will be satisfied until those responsible are brought to justice.
