Baker Mayfield Comments on Odell Beckham’s Future With Browns
By Michael Luciano
The future of Odell Beckham Jr. in Cleveland remains up in the air, and quarterback Baker Mayfield isn't saying much about OBJ's desire to stay.
As trade rumors mount while the Browns slip out of the playoff picture, Mayfield was noncommittal when asked about Beckham's desire to continue playing in Cleveland, saying that he can't answer for Odell.
Beckham is averaging career-worst numbers in yards per game and catches per game despite linking up with Mayfield, Nick Chubb, and Freddie Kitchens in a Browns offense that was expected to be dominant.
OBJ was seemingly caught telling players for teams like the 49ers and Seahawks to "come get him." The star wideout has denied being unhappy in Cleveland, but admitted he's "hopeful for better results."
On the year, Beckham has logged 59 receptions for 844 yards and just two touchdowns across 13 games. He's yet to haul in double-digit receptions in a game for the Browns and has exceeded 100 receiving yards just twice.
With Mayfield and the Browns struggling, it's become a hot topic of discussion as to whether OBJ will try to force his way onto his third team in as many seasons.
While Mayfield would likely prefer to have OBJ in his arsenal next year, the second-year quarterback remained reserved when discussing the star wideout's future in The Land.
