Curtis, a former linebacker, played 14 seasons in the NFL, 11 of which were with Baltimore. He was widely regarded as of the most tenacious competitors in the sport. Across his career, he was a two-time All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler. He racked up all of those nods with the Colts.
"Mad Dog," as Baltimore fans loved to call him, won both an NFL Championship and Super Bowl with the franchise. Some say his greatest contribution was when he clinched the Super Bowl V win over the Dallas Cowboys with an interception late in the fourth quarter.

The former No. 14 overall pick left Baltimore in the 1976 expansion draft and became an important cog in the middle of the Seattle Seahawks' defense before he finished his career with the Washington Redskins.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Curtis' family during this difficult time.
