Bartender at San Diego Winter Meetings Perfectly Trolls White Sox Blogger About James Shields Trade

Fernando Tatis, Jr. had a great rookie season for the San Diego Padres, sporting a .317 average while hitting 22 home runs and knocking in 53 RBIs in just 84 games. As a 20-year-old, Tatis Jr. is oozing with potential and every team in the league is scared to have to play him for the next 15-20 years.
In 2016, the Chicago White Sox traded Tatis Jr. to the Padres for James Shields, who in turn compiled a 16-35 record with a 5.31 ERA in his two-plus MLB seasons on the south side. When a White Sox blogger told a bartender at the Winter Meetings (held in San Diego) about his job, he/she (also a Padres fan) took it upon themselves to remind him about this awful trade.

Chatted about the Winter Meetings with the bartender. Told them I blog and podcast about the White Sox.
"Oh man. That must be tough."

While the Padres are ecstatic to have a young player of Tatis, Jr.'s caliber on their team, the Chicago White Sox must be kicking themselves thinking what could have been if they hadn't decided to trade him in the summer of 2016.
Not wanting to make the same mistake again, the White Sox signed Fernando Tatis Jr.'s younger brother, Elijah Tatis, this summer.
Swing look a little familiar?

Let's hope that the White Sox don't mess this one up as well and trade Elijah to another team for virtually nothing.
