By Jerry Trotta

Some truly disturbing news has materialized on Saturday morning regarding one of Major League Baseball's most prolific player agents.
Several news outlets have reported that Matt Sosnick, whose agency currently represents stars like Rays ace Blake Snell and Mets slugger Pete Alonso, was arrested on domestic violence charges back on Oct. 8 in Danville, California for allegedly choking his wife, Erica, in front of their daughter.
TMZ Sports noted that the couple's daughter was forced to call a former babysitter during the confrontation because she didn't know what else to do. The nanny ultimately contacted local authorities.

Fair warning, folks. This next details is alarmingly bothersome.
According to court documents, Erica claimed that her husband grabbed and squeezed her neck and barbarically uttered "I will destroy you." Sosnick allegedly proceeded to throw her across the room and she crashed into a table... all while their nine-year-old daughter watched.
Erica claims to have suffered injuries from the incident, including "bruising and swelling on her arm and red marks in the shape of handprints around her throat," per court documents.

Sosnick even violated the couple's original restraining order and was subsequently arrested on Oct. 9. The following day, Erica claims that her husband threatened to kill himself in text messages that read "I've already decided...Saying goodbye to kids," and ultimately blaming her for his apparent decision.
Erica later pleaded to the court for a more stringent restraining order. She was awarded a move-out order against Sosnick, and has petioned for divorce.
