Latest Bashaud Breeland Update Proves Chiefs Have No Choice But to Cut Him
The past 24 hours have been an absolute nightmare for both Bashaud Breeland and the Kansas City Chiefs. Not only was the veteran cornerback arrested on multiple charges, but the police report highlighted just how confounding the situation was.
Now, to make matters worse, Breeland is reportedly facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.
So, he could end up getting suspended four games and is in some pretty serious trouble with the law? Not the best of combinations, Mr. Breeland. While the Chiefs are yet to release a statement following the CB's arrest, you've got to figure his time with the organization could be coming to a close.
If Kansas City isn't already looking for potential replacements, they should get on the horn immediately and start reaching out to free agent cornerbacks.
Breeland's since-deleted tweets before that police report was released look even worse now. Unfortunately for the speedy defensive back, his bone-headed mistakes may have cost him a shot at helping Kansas City defend its Super Bowl title.
