We have activated DT Akiem Hicks from IR to the active roster and have placed TE Ben Braunecker on IR.
The Bears have been an average team this season, sporting a 7-6 record and currently placing third in the NFC North. While the team has started to get hot (having won their last three games, and four of their last five), they will benefit greatly from the return of their DE, Akiem Hicks, who has missed nine games with an injured knee and elbow.
Hicks has been practicing with the team for about a week, and even though his injury has not fully healed, he believes he will be ready to return against the divisional leaders and rivals, the Green Bay Packers.
Akiem Hicks (elbow) said he's feeling good ahead of a possible return Sunday in Green Bay. What does he expect? "I just love to play good football. I don't expect any crazy things or to play outside my normal. I want to play good football."

As a seventh-year player, Hicks is used to the NFL grind, and knows exactly what it means to get injured and what steps need to be taken to ensure it heals properly. We should trust his judgement in this case, although it comes with risk.

Hicks' only sack so far this year came against the Packers in the first game of the season, and with his talent and work ethic, count on Akiem not only playing this Sunday, but making a significant impact.
