Bears Are Using Arena Football League Goal Posts for Kicking Practice
By Sean Facey

The Chicago Bears are determined to exorcise their kicking demons that haunted their 2019 campaign.
According to Adam Jahns, the Bears are using Arena Football League goal posts, which are narrower than NFL goal posts, for certain drills in kicking practice.
For those keeping tabs on the #Bears' kicking competition, they're using Arena League goalposts, which are narrower, for some drills right now.

"We might just keep it that way. They’ve got to start putting it through that one instead of the big ones," Nagy said.
"We might just keep it that way," said head coach Matt Nagy. "They've got to start putting it through that one instead of the big ones."
It's a clever idea that was unfortunately born out of necessity in wake of Cody Parkey's heart-breaking missed field goal in the playoffs last year.
Training the kickers on a narrower margin not only forces them to be more accurate, but it also might give them a boost of confidence once they step out onto an NFL field and remember that there's a little bit more room for error.
Fair to say after Wednesday’s OTA, the Bears kicking competition is still wide open.

The Bears have plenty of kickers in contention for the starting job, ranging from Eddy Pineiro to the unfortunately-named Chris Blewitt.
If they have success with the narrower goal posts, they should have no problem in the kicking game in 2019, at least that's Nagy's thought process. Let's hope it pays off.
