Bears to Reportedly Make Run at 2-Time Pro Bowl TE Austin Hooper in Free Agency
By Evan Wolff
In amongst all the Tom Brady free agent discussions, you may be surprised to learn that there are other players moving teams in the National Football League. Jadeveon Clowney and Philip Rivers are among the other high-profile free agents searching for a team for the 2020 season.
One other player that has caught the interest of teams this offseason is two-time Pro Bowl tight end Austin Hooper. Hooper's contract is set to expire soon with the Atlanta Falcons. The Chicago Bears have reportedly made steps to chase after the talents of Hooper.
After frustrating fans by not making a run at Greg Olsen, who vocalized his desire to make a return to the Windy City, the Chicago front office would be wise to be all in on Hooper. The 25-year-old played in 13 games last and started 10, making 75 catches for 785 yards, and scoring 6 touchdowns. With Hooper being the best tight end on the market now, the Bears will face stiff competition to secure his rights.
After the complete failure that was the 2019 season for the Bears, it's time for the Chicago front office to make one big push.
